On June 5, 2025, Nintendo officially launched the Nintendo Switch 2. From the moment it was announced, one request has stood out above the rest in our conversations with developers: Switch 2 support in W4 Consoles.
We’ve been working to make that happen, and today we’re excited to share that:
W4 Consoles beta for Nintendo Switch 2 available now!
Just like with our other supported platforms, the Switch 2 port is a bare-metal implementation, built to deliver optimized native performance for Godot projects. Compared to the original Switch port, the Switch 2 version takes full advantage of the new hardware to push performance even further.
The port is currently in beta: it’s production-ready but hasn’t yet gone through our full release certification, meaning no commercial titles have shipped with it so far. To help teams get the most of this early release, we’re including premium support at no additional cost during the beta period.
How to apply
If you are a licensed Nintendo Switch 2 developer with a Nintendo Switch 2 development kit, just apply through our current W4 Consoles application and we’ll get back to you with next steps. If you’re a current W4 Consoles customer with an “All Console Platforms” plan, the Nintendo Switch 2 port will be offered at no additional cost.
We’re ready to have you on board for your Nintendo Switch 2 project!
